I’m originally from Warsaw, Indiana and studied biology at DePauw University. After graduating I worked several random jobs before eventually becoming a high school biology teacher. I taught for four years, and then I returned to college to study vertebrate paleontology and evolutionary biology. I attended Indiana University for my masters degree, and I’m currently a PhD student at the University of Chicago. I study the origin and early history of mammals, especially those that lived during the Age of Dinosaurs. My goal is to become a college professor, which will allow me to continue teaching and researching. I stay active with fieldwork in the summer and by playing multiple sports throughout the year. I enjoy hoppy beers, non-hoppy beers, hanging out with my girlfriend (also a paleontologist), and procrastinating from writing my dissertation.
